Built in 1918 for the Air service Construction Corps by Andrew Barclay as works No.1431, following its use with the Construction Corps it was moved to RAF Calshot near Southampton where it worked between 1921-1945 wherein it was stored out of use, Abelson & Co. (Engineers) Ltd purchased the stored 1431 in 1947 and presented it to the Talyllyn Railway in 1953, over the course of a year the locomotive would be overhauled and re~gauged to 2’3″ entering traffic as No.6 “Douglas”
The locomotive has had numerous small changes throughout its working live on the Talyllyn Railway with changes being made to buffer beams and fittings between workshop repairs and these are represented with separately fitted details.

Both locomotives are drop on body shells for the Bachmann Trains 0-4-0 “Percy” Chassis and feature appropriate separately fitted details for the builder to apply to their liking. The model can be further enhanced with use of a Fourdees Ltd. Valve Gear addon kit which the kit only requires minor alterations to fit.
